Tonje Gjevjon - is the director, contact person and shares the artistic resposibiity of the group.

Tonje is an audiovisual performance artist and for the last few years has been composing music, making films, writing lyrics and taking care of the business side of things for The Hungry Hearts.

She was born with several alter egos and is far beyond treatment.

Tonje's alter egos: The Bride of Christ, Rosita Lonelyheart, The Dancer, and one of the Anatola Twins are all real life characters who make regular appearances in The Hungry Hearts performances and films from time to time. Tonje does not know the difference between lies, dreams, fantasies, stories and reality. She does not even understand what that difference might be..

Tonje also writes articles for the press and online, initiating and participating in art debates.

Edith Roth Gjevjon is a PhD candidate in Nursing Science.

Edith likes to stand still in one position on stage or in the films she appears in. She believes she is the silent one in the group, although her silence can be very loud and her warm singing voice will daze your heart with rapture. She loves systems, people who are able to live together in harmony, electronic gadgets like mobile phones and of course civilized and refined people. Kindness is very important for Edith. She also has alter egos inside her, including Betty Ballbreaker who likes to find her dinner ready on the table when she comes home from work, and The Secret Nurse, who will give the breast treatment to all who need it in the most in the great Hospital of Love. Yet Edith insists and claims that in her head there is nothing but silence and stillness. She walks around with a golden halo at all times, visible to some and invisible to others, depending on how clever you are with your eyes.

Line Halvorsen - shares the artistic resposiblity of the group.

Line is a visual artist specializing in photography. Her little body is fast and springy and she focuses on existential conditions. She is especially preoccupied with the lonely souls. Line writes lyrics that are sad and that remind us of how mortal we are, and how much we need each other. Time is an important concept to Line - time, changes and life. Line tries to absorb everything. Her condition is characterized by intense presence. This may be hard for other people around her - and even for Line herself - but this is how she is. She has her own pattern of movement and her own special way of dancing. Line is very sincere and she is so kind it is almost impossible to imagine. She flickers softly in the dark and can be seen onstage lost in rhythm or abandoning herself to a musical tune as if the dream was all there was. It is both unbearable and irresistible to dream with Line.

Ingeborg Kolle has developed the alter ego The Pantyhose Lady who has come to inhabit her long, pale body. The Pantyhose Lady has Mensa-IQ but tries to lessen it by continual consumption of intoxicating substances. Her wardrobe consists of pantyhoses, bras and pumps. The Pantyhose Lady wakes up everyday without knowing where she is or what she did the day before. Therefore she has developed an ability to improvise her life and her memories. Dialogue as a means of communication is unknown to The Pantyhose Lady. She prefers monologue as her way of interacting with her audience and the rest of the world.

Amina Bech - shares the artistic responsibility of the group.

Amina is a visual and performance artist with a major in scenography and new media. Today the focus is on photography. Long before becoming a member, Amina had a crush on The Hungry Hearts - and had been stalking them secretly for years. Amina stepped in as a back-up through a facebook ad, when the group performed at the action against Freedom of Expression Award winner Nina Karin Monsen.  She has worked with image and sound processing in a wide variety of ways, from digital processed photography, video and sound - integrated in performance, installations and live improvisation.

She was the one who reached for - and caught - Blondie's shoe at The Storås Festival. Blondie's white shoe landed in Mona's arms and she gave the shoe to The Hungry Hearts. Mona is one of the dance instructors on the Hazuki-dance in the music video IN YOUR FACE.

 

Henriette Høyskel should be the natural choice as the hostess for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. She has international class and a kind of femininity like few others. Class and timelessness characterize Henriette, but she will reveal other sides when working with The Hungry Hearts. Henriette is also one of the dance instructors on the Hazuki-dance in the music video IN YOUR FACE.
