Up Against The Power Prize

Up against the power prize 2011 går til Sara Mats Azmeh Rasmussen

Begrunnelse:

31. januar 2011 startet Rasmussen en sitteaksjon utenfor lokalene til Islamsk Råd Norge (IRN) i Oslo i protest mot at rådet ikke tar klart avstand fra dødsstraff mot homofile. Med seg hadde hun en plakat med teksten «Frihet og verdighet for homofile og transpersoner» skrevet på norsk og arabisk.

Rasmussen er en særlig uavhengig stemme. Hun har ingen organisasjon eller et parti i ryggen og gir med sine uttrykk, aksjoner og tekster klar melding til autoriteter om å endre kurs hva gjelder holdning og politikk overfor homofile, lesbiske og transpersoner.

LLH, Skeiv Verden, Skeiv Ungdom og de homofile kulturbyråkratene klarer ikke gi Rasmussen sin uforbeholdne støtte, da de mener hun har en form de ikke kan stå bak. Av redsel for å kunne støte noen sitter de på gjerdet å rauter.

Som vanlig er det enkeltpersoner som får verden til å gå fremover, på bekostning av egen sikkerhet.

Rasmussen får prisen fordi hun sier tydelig i fra og krever mer enn fine ord og setninger om endring. Rasmussen krever forandring nå.

LLH, Skeiv Verden, Skeiv Ungdom får dele den nyopprettede «Rauteprisen" som er en antipris til organisasjoner som har mistet motet, grepet og sammenhengen de fungerer i.

Prisen er symbolsk.

Video shoot with Bollywood stars

The Hungry Hearts reaches new heights. Recently they had a visit from India. The movie stars Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parashar came to Nesodden to take part in THH upcoming music video ”Captain in the sky”. The locations were the new Operahouse in Oslo, and the woods and fields of Nesodden. The star collaboration began when THH performed at the Tel Aviv Lesbian and Gay festival this spring. Kapil and Yuvraaj were there to present their movie ”Dunno Y”. This is the first Bollywood movie that deals with a homosexual relationship. The movie contains the first gay kiss ever within the Bollywood movie genre.

Tonje Gjevjon,the artistic leader of THH says that they was drawn to these beautiful guys on the opening day of the festival. She pulled her wife Edith`s arm and said: "We have to get to know those guys!" They slowly began to walk backwards in the line on the red carpet, untill they were beside the Bollywood boys. The ”flirtation technique” worked. Soon after, they started a conversation and at the end of the festival they knew they had gotten a long lasting true friendship. THH invited the boys to come to Norway. They were thrilled by the invitation, so when they were going to Germany to participate in a film festival, they jumped on a plane to Norway to see the lovely Hungry Hearts ladies and to participate in the THH video. NRK, Nasjonalgalleriet (a cultural program on Norwegian broadcasting TV) filmed the recordings on the Opera house. Hopefully the music video will premiere in this program. To all the fans out there; Be ready for a music video filled with ebullience and a touch of Bollywood glamour on a hay ball, chilling river scenes and funny ladies.

The Hungry Hearts er invitert til Tel Aviv Gay and Lesbian Film Festival 2011.

Vi skal gjennomføre en performance, vise 6 av våre videoarbeider og ha en "artist-talk" 13 juni 2011.

For å dekke reiseutgifter, kost og losji er vi blitt tildelt reisestipend fra Norsk Filmfond.

Prosjektets navn: "Å tilpasse seg formen" - Integrering, assimilasjon eller selvutslettelse.

Prosjektet undersøker og problematiserer omkring mønstre og regler vi alle er en del av. Bakgrunnen for prosjektet er et kollektivt samfunnsansvar til enkeltindividet

om å være tilpasningsdyktig-og at man gjennom å være tilpasningsdyktig bidrar til å opprettholde forhold, konstruksjoner og tendenser som ikke nødvendigvis er konstruktive.

Prosjektet vil blir en del av The Hungry Hearts utrykk når vi i 2012 gjennomfører vårt opphold på TOU scene, Stavanger (residency).

Østlandsutstillingen

The Hungry Hearts er antatt på Østlandsutstillingen 2011 med videoverket "The Smile of an Angel", som er et samarbeid med musiker og sosiolog Anne Lorentzen. Østlandsutstillingen åpner 2. april på Akershus Kunstsenter.

Love and moving moments

The Hungry Hearts are invited to perform at TLV Fest, the Gay and Lesbian Film festival in Tel Aviv in June 2011. We will also participate with some of our short movies. Read more about the festival here.

New Music Video from Anne Lorentzen - by The Hungry Hearts

The music video "The Smile of an Angel" is now completed. Anne Lorentzens song and album is based on the story about Belle Gunness, a Norwegian female serial killer living and killing in the USA in the early 1900's. Read more here.

The Hungry Hearts by Tonje Gjevjon has directed, filmed and produced the video - and the rest of us are acting in it together with Anne Lorentzen. Nina Bergström has made the special effects and been a consultant in the finishing process. The process is documented on this Facebook-page.

Hopefully - you will soon see the video on a screen near you.

Melodi Kvasi Grand Prix

The Hungry Hearts øver nå inn vinnersangen fra 1977: L'oiseau et l'enfant (FRA) til årets Melodi Kvasi Grand Prix. Melodi Kvasi Grand Prix (MKGP) blir nå arrangert for 13. gang og er selve høydepunktet under Skeive Dager. Rådhusplassen onsdag 23. juni kl. 20.00. THH i Japan

The Hungry Hearts har holdt to performancer og en gjesteperformance i løpet av sitt opphold i Japan. The Hasuki dance og The International Lesbian Anthem ser ut til å slå an hos japanerne som virker å være veldig glade i ironi og vulgariteter :-) Ellers er THH kontaktet av diverse filmfestivaler som vise filmene våre- så det blir nok å gjøre fremover.

Performing at U-en Guesthouse in Osaka and Kyoto-Seika University

We are leaving for Japan on tuesday 6th of April! First, we will stay a few days in Tokyo as tourists. We arrive at U-en Guesthouse in Osaka on monday and can't wait to meet Kana and Saki again! After some days with rehearsal we will be ready for the performance "DREAMS" on friday the 16th of April. In addition to The Hungry Hearts - Mika, Mikas cousin and Fukuko will perform with us. Chu, who we met in Osaka in 2007 is curating "DREAMS" - by finding other artists, making flyers and making sure the equipment is right. We performed in a Sample Gallery i Nara in 2007 - also curated by Chu. She is great! Chu is also a tutor at Kyoto-Seika University where we will perform the day before "DREAMS", the 15th. We are really looking forward to being in Japan again and meet our fantastic friends and make new ones. We will publish pictures and information during our stay, at our Facebook-site

The Hungry Hearts have won The One Minutes Annual awards Competition!

The One Minutes Awards night will take place in Shanghai in collaboration with the East China Normal University on the 19th of March. On that night, a winner is chosen for each category by professionals from the art or media sector. Every winner goes home with a cash prize and a Tommy Award, a bronze monkey that owes its name to the abbreviation of The One Minutes: TOM.

The One Minutes awards 2009 will take place in the Dutch Culture Center in Shanghai on 19 March 2010. Shanghai TV will build a TV studio for the ceremony and broadcast the show on their art channel. The winners will be announced during the show - and the winner of the European category is: The hungry hearts!!!

The Hungry Hearts deltar på performance helg i U-en Guesthouse i Osaka, Japan - 16-17 april 2010.

Performancehelgen har arbeidstittelen "Dreams" og skal ta for seg drømmer folk bærer på. Utgangspunktet for dette prosjektet var at Kana og Saki, eierne av U-enGuesthouse, fortalte om sine drømmer, som var og reise rundt i verden. Da Kana og Saki innså at til aldri kom til å få råd til å reise, fant de ut at: "om du ikke har råd til å reise rundt i verden, må du sørge for at verden kommer til deg".

The Hungry Hearts bodde på U-en Guesthouse da vi deltok med performance og videoarbeider på Kansai Queer Film Festival i 2007. Nå skal vi tilbake

The Hungry Hearts produces music video for Belle Gunness

Singer/songwriter Anne Lorentzen released her fourth album "Alias Belle" in the autumn 2009. The album - and a performance shown at Grusomhetens Teater in Oslo - was based on the story about the Norwegian mass murderess Belle Gunness, "the notorious black widow" who supposedly killed more than 40 men and her children in Chicago, USA in the beginning of the 1900's. The Hungry Hearts start shooting the video for the song "The smile of an angel" this weekend. The song is available in iTunes.
